Abstract:
An AV server is provided with a processor section (30) for conducting various signal processings including the compression and expansion, a video RAID section (21) for storing video signals, and an audio RAID section (10) for storing sound signals. The processor section (30) is installed for each channel and supplies a sound signal and a video signal to the audio RAID section (10) and the video RAID section (21), respectively, and has a plurality of I/O boards (32�n?) which receive sound signals and video signals from the audio RAID section (10) and the video RAID section (21), respectively. The video RAID section (21) has the RAID-3 structure. The sound RAID section (10) writes and reads sound signals in correspondence with each of a plurality of sound signal channels independently of the video RAID section (21).
