Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to obtain a useful extract from aquatic animal tissues. The present invention provides a fish-cartilage water extract containing proteoglycans having molecular weights greater than or equal to 2,500,000. This extract has excellent anti-aging effects to the skin (particularly, anti-inflammatory effect, the effect of improving the barrier function of the skin, and the effect of improving the moisture retainability of the skin). Moreover, this fish-cartilage water extract achieves the aforementioned effects not only by application to the skin, but also through oral ingestion.
