Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to allow false detections to be eliminated when a plurality of facial regions are detected in a captured image. To achieve this, the present invention provides a facial detection device (2) which detects facial regions of persons from captured images which are temporally contiguous and is provided with a processor (15) which carries out: a facial detection process which detects facial regions from the captured images; and an error determination process which, if a plurality of facial regions have been detected, computes a direction of movement for each facial region across captured images that are temporally adjacent, and determines whether facial regions in which the correlation between facial regions with respect to the movement directions thereof is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold have been detected correctly or erroneously as facial regions.
