Abstract:

It is intended to provide a filter of a catheter for capturing thrombi which has a thin wall and yet a sufficient strength and a method of producing the same. Namely, a filter of a catheter for capturing thrombi is produced by a method which comprises constructing a spindle-shaped wire member (2) by spirally entwining a plural number of wires (1) together and bundling the wires at the top (2A) and the bottom (2B) while forming a round part (2C) at the intermediate position, and then coating about half of the spindle from the bottom side with a filtering material by the dipping method followed by fixation to give a parachute-shaped filter part (3).
