Abstract:
A fine carbon fiber-metal composite material, characterized in that it comprises a fine carbon fiber-metal composite material which is prepared by a method comprising providing a formed article containing fine carbon fibers having a fiber diameter of 0.5 to 500 nm and a fiber length of 1000 μm or less, having a multi-layer structure wherein cylindrical carbon layers overlap one another, and having a hollow- structured central axis, and impregnating the formed article with aluminum, magnesium, copper or an alloy thereof by the molten metal forging under pressure. The above fine carbon fiber-metal composite material has a high mechanical strength, a high thermal conductivity and a low thermal expansion coefficient, and thus is suitable as a substrate for the electronic equipment.
