_semicircnlar_frames

y invention relates to a tool which may be included in the net-fishing technical field.This invention consists of movable means particularly of a circular net,with a slight parabolic depth,inserted on two semicircular frames with hinges applied respectively at the four extremities and at the centre.These hinges are fitted to control " by means of some threads the closing * of the two frames,(the t o^ semicircles)whose rotation on its imaginary axis makes a fanshaped movement.

Till now all the tools used in the net-fishing field, present some disadvantages which set limits to the fisherman who relies upon his tool's caracteristics for fishing.One of the inconveniences of an already known tool(composed of a fixed metallic square frame that has no possibility to shut itself and within which is extended a net)is the inevitable resistance of the water; hat is an upward force opposed to a do-"*nward force which acts as a brake.As a result,the net and its catch are heavy,difficult and slow to pull up.Another tool that shows some disadvantages is one composed of a round fishing-net without any frame with P perimeter weighted with leads and with a rope

SUBSTITUTE SHEET

which is attached to the centre and is thrown so that the net opens like an -umbrella.lt is closed by holding the rope.The disadvantages of this tool,are not only due to the technical limits of the tool itself,but also to its heaviness.In fact, he tool needs both in its placing and its recovery not only vHJcal effor but p ]bθ great experience to avoid esc ri g the net or hrow ng D without effect. Moreover tl.ip tool cannot be useό for gre όenth oecause it hap to πe thrown ,ιust a few meters from the fish.At this point the disadvantages of these tools can be summed up as follows:I)The resistance of the water to the fishing-net due to the norizontal expansion oi trie net,which makes it heavy and dif ctϋt to pull up quickly thus facilitating the escape of the catch.2)The difficulty of use imposed by the nature of the tool,described before,obstructs its placing and recovery in the water. )The impossibility to use that tool at great depths. y invention not only creates an entirely new system and new tool,but it also elimina¬ tes the disadvantages shown by the already known fishing tools mentioned above. Disclosure of invention

M invention consists of a tool,which may be included in the net fishing technical field;jt is composed of two semicircular rames,connected at the extrer.itjes with hinges, h ch allow it to open like •= fan accor¬ ding to a diverging angle of 180°.A fishing-net with a slight parabolic dimension(the depth),is attached to

SUBSTITUTE SHEET

the frames along all their perimeter.In the middle of each semicircle is applied a hinge connected with thread to a float,as are the other hinges at the four extremities.The float not, only holds taut the wires connecting with the frames,once the net is open,to make closing easier but also to support a bell in the middle(connected to the float with a thread)containing bait to attract fish.At the other end of the float, a rone is inserted, hich is use by the fisherman to control the whole system.This invention doesn't need any particular technique or physical effort for pla¬ cing it on the sea bottom,since it is sufficient to lower it from the surface of the water in the position in which the two frames make a straigth angle to get the net-fishing system ready.In this way one of the problems produced by the already known tools will be solveα:that is to sa the difficulty of placing the tool.Koreover,by adopting the bell with bait another disadvantage of the above mentioned tools is solved. I act,by ir.eans of the bell,the bait attracts the fish into the middle of the net.To get the net back it is sufficient to pull the rope linked to the superior extremity of the float,so as to bring the two frames instantaneously together,leaving the fish -crapped without any escape.So,when the net is closed,in going up again,the tool offers very little resistance compa¬ red with that offered by the open frame.This solves the r blem presented by already known tools of brin¬ ging it back to the surface again and allows the in-

SUBSTITUTE SHEET

vention a ' easy recovery without any effort and parti¬ cular technique.To show these particular characteri¬ stics better,here are some examples of the realization of this invention,with reference to the enclosed sche- atic figures:-Table one,shows the invent on,seen with its two frames(16)in an open position.Such a position is adopted before its laying on the bottom of the sea. In this figure one of the technique aαopted to tie the net(I5)up to the two semicircles is also described graphically.That innovatory system consists in winding the net(I5)around the two frames(16) .Besides this new and efficacious way of tying,in this invention two other new system may be used,both analytically descri¬ bed in the following figures.With these systems the connection between the net(l5)and frames(16)can be ob¬ tained very well;the second method consists in taking the net(15) hrough a little flexible rod(6) ,which,in¬ serted into the loops(II)placed along the entire peri¬ meter of the semicircles,locks its meshes without let- ting them out:the third method consists of bridling the net's meshes(15)vith new hooks(lθ) (shown in the following figures) ,running inside a cavity made in the frames(16)and extended along their entire perimeter. In the first figure are also shown some essential com- ponents of the invention, heir position in the new tool and their operating function.-The second table shows the invention seen with its two frames(16)about to as¬ sume the position for closing like a fan. his table incluoes figures of other components(seen in various

positions) ,which prepare the tool and constitute its first form of realization.In fact,in the second table the hinge-lock system(9)and the sections of combina¬ tions(6)(II)(10)of bridling the net(15)to the frames (I6)are highlighted.In the second table,the system for tying the net(l5)to the frames(l6)is the same shown previously for the first table.Such systems-are: I a system of i g the fishing-net(J5)sround the frar.es(In) .2)ε system of oridling the net's mesh(15) with a iitϊ.le flexible rod(6) ,inserted ήn o the loops (Il)placed along the perimeter of the frames(16). 3)a system to fit the net(I5)into the hooks(IO)running alon£ the cavity that is inside the frames(lδ). -The third table shows the invention seen i h its two frames(16) n a fan-closing position.In this position, particular differences can be seen,both in the form and in the combination of parts,of the frame(16),of the hinges(13)(Iδ)and of other components of the in¬ vention,which distinguish its realization compared v 'ith that seen in table one and tvoo.However,the vali¬ dity of this invention and its relative fishing-sy¬ stem,can in no way be questioned,in spite of the dif¬ ferences in realization,dimensions,materials and form in table three compared to the other two.Therefore it is within the ambit of this invention and the property of this industrial patent.The method for tying the net (I5)to the frame(l6)are the same for the third table as for the first and second ta.ble.Such methods are: I)a system of winding the fishing-net(I5)aroυnd the

frames(I6) :2)a system of bridling the net's mesh with a little flexible rod(6)inserted into the loops(Il) placed along the perimeter of the frames(16) ;3)a sy¬ stem to fit the net(I5)in the hooks(10)running along the cavity that is inside the frames(.16) .-The fourth table shows the invention seen with its two frames(16) in a open position(IδO°),prior to its immersion in the water.There is a marked difference to the preceding examples(shown in the tables I,2,3)concerning the sha- e an the operative mechanism of the frames(16),the rotation hinges(13) (19)and their .junctions with the two semicircles(16) .The figure of the fourth table show those differences.However,the validitj'' of this in¬ vention and its relative fishing-system,can in no way be questioned,in spite of the differences in realiza¬ tion,dimensions, aterials and form in table four com¬ pared to the other three .Therefore it is within the ambit of tnis invention and the property of this indu¬ strial patent.The methods for tying the net(15)to the frames(16),illustrated previously,are the same for the fourth table,as for tables 1,2 and 3.The methods are: I)a system of winding the fishing-net(15)around the frames(16) ;2)a system of brindling the net's mesh with a little flexible rod(6)inserted into the loops(II) placed along the perimeter of the frames(lδ) ;3)a sy¬ stem to fit the net(I5)in the hooks(IO)running along the cavity that is inside the frames(16) .•* The fifth taole shows this new fishing tool seen with its two frames in its position of maximum divergence,before

SUBSTITUTE SHEET

being placed on the sea. bottom.Of course there are so¬ me changes from the preceding examples,especially con¬ cerning the shape of frames(16),hinges(17)and their junctions.However,the validity of this invention and its relative fishing-system,can in no way be questio¬ ned,in spite of the differences in realization,dimen¬ sion, aterials and form in table five com.pa.red to the other four.There ore it* is within the anbit of hi invention a d the property of this i dustr al na ent. AS for the other xaoles the methods are the following: I)a system of winding the fιshmg-net(I5)around the frames(.16) ;2)a system of bridling the net's mesh(I5) with a little flexible rod(6)inserted into the loops (,II)placed along the perimeter oi the frames(I6) ;3)a system to fit the net(I5)in the hooks(.10)running along the cavity that is inside the frames(l6). There follows a analytical description of the inden¬ tion,in numerical order.Tables ~ I,2,3,4, ,points:I)pegs with an adjustable hook and with a mobile thread-stop, s een in two positions.VThen the frames are open,the pegs are hooked on one side to the rotation hinges at the extremities of the semicircles and,on the other side, to the float by means of a thread.As the frames close, the pegs come unhooked automatically,making the clo- sing of the net easier:2)a float consisting of two hollow bells,knurled inside,and connected by a knurled pipe.At one end,the float is connected to the hinges on the frames.At the other end of the float is a projection to which the control threads are attached;
