Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for preparing a flame retardant composite fiber, and a flame retardant composite fiber prepared thereby, the method sequentially carrying out: a solution preparation step of preparing a glycerol solution by mixing water and glycol while heating the same in a temperature range of 60-80°C; a composite preparation step of preparing a thermoplastic starch composite powder by providing a corn starch powder to the glycerol solution, continuously and repeatedly mixing the same, leaving the same alone, and then pulverizing the same; a powder applying step of applying the prepared thermoplastic starch composite powder onto the surface of a sheet of flax fabric; and a hot press molding step of compression molding the thermoplastic starch composite powder-applied flax fabric, and thus the composite fiber is physically/chemically stronger while being environmentally friendly and also allows a fireproofing use by providing flame retardancy.
