Abstract:
An excitation coil (210) and a detection coil (220) are positioned so as to sandwich an immersion nozzle (163) therebetween. A magnetic field is generated from the excitation coil (210) so as to intersect molten steel which flows through a hollow section of the immersion nozzle (163), and the change over time in said magnetic field is detected by the detection coil (220) as induced electromotive force. A calculation unit (400) calculates the flow of molten steel flowing through the hollow section of the immersion nozzle (163) on the basis of said induced electromotive force.
