Abstract:
Provided is a heat pump apparatus capable of suppressing the flow of liquid having a low temperature into a tank, while also suppressing a reduction in the COP when a heat storage operation starts. The heat pump apparatus is provided with a compressor for compressing a refrigerant, a heat exchanger for exchanging heat between the refrigerant compressed in the compressor and a liquid, a pump for allowing the liquid to flow, a tank, a control device for controlling the heat storage operation for storing the liquid heated in the heat exchanger in the tank, and a means for detecting or estimating a compressor temperature, which is the temperature of the compressor or the temperature of the refrigerant discharged from the compressor. The control device determines a hot start or a cold start on the basis of the compressor temperature at the start of the heat storage operation. In the case of a cold start, the liquid flowing out from the heat exchanger in a first stage of the heat storage operation is made to have a temperature lower than that of the liquid flowing out from the heat exchanger in a second stage of the heat storage operation.
