Abstract:

Provided is a heavy duty pneumatic tire having good mud discharge performance and improved block rigidity. This heavy duty pneumatic tire has blocks (6) on the treading surface (1) of the tread. Shallow grooves are provided in each of the blocks, and at least one (7, 9, 31, 32) of the shallow grooves is a shallow groove having a raised bottom. The shallow groove having a raised bottom connects to a circumferential groove and/or a transverse groove which is adjacent to the block, and the shallow groove having a raised bottom extends in the direction intersecting the circumferential direction of the tire at the center of at least the block in the width direction of the tire, the bottom of the shallow groove being raised so that the depth of the shallow groove at the center of the block in the width direction of the tire is less than the depth of the shallow groove at an end of the shallow groove in the width direction of the tire.
