Abstract:

Novel hemostatic composition or hemostatic preparations. There is provided a pharmaceutically stable hemostatic composition in solution form characterized in that antithrombin III (AT-III) is added to a hemostatic composition in solution form comprising separated and purified activated blood coagulation factor VII (FVIIa) and blood coagulation factor X (FX) mixed together in a single container. The concentrations of FVIIa, FX and AT-III in the solution are 1 to 20 μM, 5 to 400 μM and 0.1 to 5.0 IU/mL, respectively. There is further provided a method of stabilizing the hemostatic composition in solution form, characterized in that AT-III is added to a hemostatic composition in solution form comprising FVIIa and FX mixed together in a single container. The pH value of this hemostatic composition in solution form exceeds 5.0, preferably higher than 5.0 but below 7.0, and still preferably in the range of 5.5 to 6.5.
