Abstract:
Intended is to realize a hexagonal ferrite magnet having both a high remanent magnetic flux density and a high coercive force which has never achieved with a conventional M type hexagonal ferrite magnet by enhancing, at the same time, the saturation magnetization and the magnetic anisotropy of a M type ferrite. Such a characteristic can be achieved by preparing a hexagonal ferrite magnet which contains A, R and Fe, wherein A represents at least one element selected from among Sr, Ba and Ca and R represents an element which may take a valence of +3 or +4 and has an ionic radius of 1.00 angstrom or more, and has a value of n/N of 0.35 or less, wherein n represents the number of crystal grains having stacking fault and N represents the total number of crystal grains.
