Abstract:
A home accessory and process operable to provide selection of material and subsequent manufacturing of home accessories such as but not limited to wall niches and window sills wherein each accessory is manufactured from the same material. The present invention includes a sample board wherein the sample board is configured to provide a plurality of material samples so as to demonstrate material type and color from which the accessories can be manufactured. The sample board is utilized in the process of the present invention so as to enable selection of a material and color thereof from which accessories will be manufactured. The process includes review of the material samples as well as inspection of the accessories prior to installation thereof. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention the material samples are either man-made stone or natural stone.

Claims:
WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:

1. A home accessory product manufactured by a process that comprises the steps of: providing a sample board, wherein the sample board is planar in manner and manufactured from a rigid material, said sample board having an upper surface; securing a plurality of samples to the sample board, wherein the plurality of samples are manufactured from a material from which a home accessory can be manufactured; presenting the sample board, wherein the sample board is presented to a client; reviewing the plurality of samples, wherein the client reviews the plurality of samples on the sample board; selecting a sample from the plurality of samples, wherein the client selects a sample from the plurality of samples subsequent reviewing the plurality of samples; reviewing a plurality of accessories, wherein the client reviews types of accessories that can be manufactured from the selected sample; selecting at least one accessory, wherein the client selects at least one accessory to be manufactured from the selected sample; and producing the at least one accessory, wherein the selected at least one accessory will be produced from the material of the selected sample.

2. The home accessory product manufactured by the process as recited in claim 1, and further including the step of inspecting the at least one accessory, wherein the client will inspect the at least one accessory for accuracy of material and color.

3. The home accessory product manufactured by the process as recited in claim 2, and further including the step of installing the at least one accessory, wherein the at least one accessory is installed in a home of the client.

4. The home accessory product manufactured by the process as recited in claim 3, wherein the at least one accessory is selected from a group consisting of the following: a window sill, a wall niche or a bench top.

5. The home accessory product manufactured by the process as recited in claim 4, wherein the plurality of samples are provided in a similar material and alternate colors thereof.

6. The home accessory product manufactured by the process as recited in claim 5, wherein the plurality of samples secured to the sample board are rectangular in shape.

7. The home accessory product manufactured by the process as recited in claim 6, wherein the at least one accessory is manufactured from a product consisting of one of the following: natural stone or manmade stone.

HOME ACCESSORIES AND PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURE THEREOF

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates generally to home building, more specifically but not by way of limitation, a plurality of home accessory products wherein the products are designed utilizing the process of the present invention and are customized to a homeowners specific requirements.

BACKGROUND

[0002] As is known in the art, building a home is a very complicated and timeconsuming process. From the pre-planning and engineering to the design of the interior the process requires a great deal of input from professionals in various fields. Some homes are built custom wherein each home is designed to the specific needs and requirement to the builder. Other home builders offer pre-engineered floor plans and allow the buyer to customize the interior of the home with various accessories. This can include but is not limited to moving non-bearing interior walls and adding features to rooms such as but not limited to the bathroom and kitchen.

[0003] When designing accessories for rooms such as but not limited to the bathroom, the owner will typically provide input. Some of these accessories are manufactured custom to the design while other accessories are added to the room but are conventional features. For these types of accessories it is important to ensure consistency of the design, color and further ensure the buyer understands what the material will be and the final look of the accessory. Currently, there is no method for creating multiple accessories from the same material wherein the accessories are manufactured from the same material and are further the same design and/or color.

[0004] Accordingly, there is a need for a product by process wherein the process of the present invention provides a creation of multiple home accessories for a room such as but not limited to a bathroom that are created utilizing the process of the present invention so as to provide a consistent design and look of the accessories for a room.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] It is the object of the present invention to provide a product by process wherein the process of the present invention provides creation of multiple home accessories wherein the present invention includes a sample board.

[0006] Another object of the present invention is to provide a process of creating a plurality of matching accessories for a bathroom that are manufactured from the same material and color wherein the sample board includes a plurality of pieces manufactured from various materials and colors.

[0007] A further object of the present invention is to provide a product by process wherein the process of the present invention provides creation of multiple home accessories wherein one of the products is a niche designed to be placed in a shower.

[0008] Still another object of the present invention is to provide a process of creating a plurality of matching accessories for a bathroom that are manufactured from the same material and color wherein a second product of the present invention is a window sill.

[0009] An additional object of the present invention is to provide a product by process wherein the process of the present invention provides creation of multiple home accessories wherein the window sill is manufactured from the same material and color as the niche.

[0010] Yet a further object of the present invention is to provide a process of creating a plurality of matching accessories for a bathroom that are manufactured from the same material and color wherein the accessories are designed so as to be secured in place utilizing silicone or other similar material.

[0011] Another object of the present invention is to provide a product by process wherein the process of the present invention provides creation of multiple home accessories wherein one of the materials utilized in the present invention is natural stone.

[0012] Still another object of the present invention is to provide a process of creating a plurality of matching accessories for a bathroom that are manufactured from the same material and color wherein another material utilized in the process is artificial stone.

[0013] To the accomplishment of the above and related objects the present invention may be embodied in the form illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Attention is called to the fact that the drawings are illustrative only. Variations are contemplated as being a part of the present invention, limited only by the scope of the claims.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0020] Referring now to the drawings submitted herewith, wherein various elements depicted therein are not necessarily drawn to scale and wherein through the views and figures like elements are referenced with identical reference numerals, there is illustrated a home accessory and process 100 constructed according to the principles of the present invention.

[0021] An embodiment of the present invention is discussed herein with reference to the figures submitted herewith. Those skilled in the art will understand that the detailed description herein with respect to these figures is for explanatory purposes and that it is contemplated within the scope of the present invention that alternative embodiments are plausible. By way of example but not by way of limitation, those having skill in the art in light of the present teachings of the present invention will recognize a plurality of alternate and suitable approaches dependent upon the needs of the particular application to implement the functionality of any given detail described herein, beyond that of the particular implementation choices in the embodiment described herein. Various modifications and embodiments are within the scope of the present invention.

[0024] Referring in particular to the Figures submitted as a part hereof, the home accessory and process 100 is operable to provide a method to produce consistent and harmonized accessories for areas of a home such as but not limited to a bathroom. It should be understood within the scope of the present invention that the accessories illustrated and described herein are exemplary and that alternate objects could be constructed utilized the process of the present invention. Furthermore, while the preferred material for the accessories are either natural or manmade stone, it should be understood within the scope of the present invention that the accessories manufactured utilizing the process of the present invention could be manufactured from numerous alternate materials.

[0025] Now referring in particular to Figure 1 through Figure 3 submitted as a part hereof exemplary accessories 5 of the home accessory and process 100 are illustrated therein. A niche 10 is provided by the process of the home accessory and process 100 and is illustrated herein in Figure 1. The niche 10 is manufactured from the preferred material that was selected from the sample board 40, as is discussed further herein. The niche 10 can includes are least one shelf 12 and includes an interior volume 14 that is configured to receive and retain articles such as but not limited to shampoo bottles. While one shelf 12 is illustrated herein, it should be understood within the scope of the present invention that the niche 10 could be provided with more than one shelf or without a shelf. The niche 10 is configured to have a depth that facilitates mounting into a vertical wall without any additional modification thereto. It is contemplated within the scope of the present invention that the niche 10 could be secured to a vertical wall utilizing suitable durable chemical or mechanical techniques. While the niche 10 is illustrated herein as being rectangular in shape, it should be understood within the scope of the present invention that the niche 10 could be manufactured in alternate shapes and sizes. While not illustrated particularly herein, it is contemplated within the scope of the present invention that the accessories could have integrated elements to assist in the installation thereof such as but not limited to levels or marking indicia. [0026] An exemplary window sill 15 is illustrated herein in Figure 2. The window sill 15 is manufactured from the same material as niche 10 utilizing material selection from the sample board 40. The window sill 15 is a single piece of material and is sized so as to mateably fit the desired window sill in the bathroom or other desired area of the home in which the home accessory and process 100 is being deployed for manufacture of accessories 5. It should be understood within the scope of the present invention that the window sill 15 could be manufactured in alternate sizes, shapes and thicknesses as need for the required location and installation.

[0027] Referring in particular to Figure 3, an exemplary bench top or shelf 20 is illustrated therein. The bench top or shelf 20 is manufactured from the same material as niche 10 utilizing material selection from the sample board 40. The bench top or shelf 20 is a single piece of material and is sized so as to mateably fit the desired area in the bathroom or other desired area of the home in which the home accessory and process 100 is being deployed for manufacture of accessories 5. It should be understood within the scope of the present invention that the bench top or shelf 20 could be manufactured in alternate sizes, shapes and thicknesses as need for the required location and installation.

[0028] Illustrated herein in Figure 4 is the sample board 40 of the home accessory and process 100. The sample board 40 includes base 41 wherein the base 41 is manufactured from a rigid planar material such as but not limited to wood and includes an upper surface 42. The sample board 40 has secured to the upper surface 42 thereof a plurality of material samples 45. The material samples 45 are provided to show the material, color and texture of the material from which the accessories will be manufactured. It should be understood within the scope of the present invention that the material samples 45 could be alternate materials and colors so as to demonstrate a complete offering for the home accessory and process 100. It should further be understood within the scope of the present invention that the sample board 40 could have various quantities of material samples 45.

[0029] Now referring Figure 5 herein, an outline of the process of the home accessory and process 100 is diagrammed therein. In step 501, the operator of the home accessory and process 100 manufactures the exemplary accessories 5 so as to be able to demonstrate the type of accessories 5 provided by the home accessory and process 100. It should be understood within the scope of the present invention that the exemplary accessories 5 could be provided in alternate shapes and sizes. Step 503, the sample board 40 is manufactured wherein the base 41 is prepared and the material samples 45 representing the materials and colors available to manufacture the accessories 5 are secured to the sample board 40. In step 505, the operator of the home accessory and process 100 will present the sample board 40 to at least one client. It should be understood within the scope of the present invention that the sample board 40 could be presented either in-person or virtually through a video conference or similar technology.

[0030] Step 507, the client will review the material samples 45. Step 509, subsequent review of the material samples 45 the client will determine the material selection for which they desire accessories 5 to be manufactured. In step 511, the client will review exemplary accessories wherein the client will choose which accessory they desire to have manufactured from the selected material from step 509. Step 513, the client will select the accessories 5 desired to have manufactured and installed. In step 515, the operator of the home accessory and process 100 will produce the selected accessories 5 from the selected material sample 45. Step 517, the client will inspect the manufactured accessories to ensure the accessories and manufactured as desired and are manufactured from the selected material. In step 519, the operator of the home accessory and process 100 will install the manufactured accessories 5 utilizing suitable techniques.
