Abstract:
The homonym identifying device comprises: a primary corpus in which document groups are stored; a number-of-meanings specifying unit for referencing an ontology in which the hierarchical relationships of words are described and for specifying the number of meanings for each word; a related word classifying means for associating a related word group, in which a word is related to each word in the primary corpus, to a meaning based on the specified number of meanings and for classifying the group; and a meaning specifying unit for selecting a related word group resembling the related word group related to the word for each word in the primary corpus from among the classified related word groups, and for specifying the meaning associated with the selected related word group.
