Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to perform efficient coding using multiple kinds of rectangular quantization matrices and suppress the code quantities of the quantization matrices themselves. To this end, an image coding device for coding an image comprises: a division unit which divides an image to be coded into any of preset multiple kinds of rectangular blocks; a generation unit which generates multiple kinds of quantization matrices respectively corresponding to the multiple kinds of rectangular blocks; a first coding unit which codes each of the quantization matrices generated by the generation unit in a scan order corresponding to the shape thereof; a quantization unit which frequency-converts an image of a noticed rectangular block obtained by the division unit, and quantizes an obtained conversion coefficient using a quantization matrix corresponding to the shape of the noticed rectangular block; a second coding unit which codes the quantized conversion coefficient obtained by the quantization unit; and an integration unit which integrates coded data obtained by the first coding unit and coded data obtained by the second coding unit.
