Abstract:
When a developer supply unit (18) is attached to a predetermined place of a device body (1), a sensor (32) installed in the device takes out information managed by a managing section (31) of the unit (18). A determining section (35) of a control unit (33) judges a characteristic of the developer supply unit (18) and determines the operating environment of the units and the operating environment of the place where the device is installed according to the result of the judgment.
