Abstract:
[Problem] To make possible the detection of the position of each of a plurality of the same partial image among search images and to increase the versatility of a device. [Solution] An image verification device comprising: a geometric transformation parameter estimation unit (16) that estimates geometric transformation parameters for a search image (QI) relative to a recorded image (RI); a partial region calculation unit (14) that utilizes the estimated geometric transformation parameters and calculates a plurality of partial regions inside the search image (QI); a partial region characteristics value calculation unit (18) that calculates the characteristics of each partial search image (QP) specified by the plurality of partial regions in the search image (QI); a partial image verification unit (20) that determines matches between the partial search images (QP) and a partial recorded image (RP), by comparing the characteristics of each of the plurality of partial search images (QP) to the characteristics of the partial recorded image (RP) specified by the partial region in the recorded image (RI); and an image position detection unit (22) that calculates the position of the partial search image (QP) matched using the geometric transformation parameters.
