Abstract:
The present invention implements an imaging device which monitors a communication situation and the like, and if a previously specified condition is satisfied, executes switching processing from an MSC mode to a PTP mode. This imaging device comprises a control unit for executing switching processing between a PTP communication mode to which a PTP protocol is applied and an MSC mode that is a communication mode complying with a mass storage class (MSC). The control unit executes the switching processing from the MSC mode to the PTP mode, for example, when MSC mode communication processing is not executed for a specified time or longer or when a motion indicating the start of image capture is detected. After switching to the PTP mode, it is possible to execute image capture by inputting an image capture control command from a host device.
