Abstract:
The luminance signal is extracted from an image signal taken by a solid-state imaging device, and high-frequency components in the extracted luminance signal are extracted through a filter. The gain of the high-frequency components extracted through the filter is varied by a gain control section, and the high-frequency components in the gain-varied luminance signal is combined with the luminance signal from a luminance signal extraction section to emphasize the edge portions. A lens is driven for focus control in accordance with the level of at least the high-frequency components of the luminance signal extracted through the filter.
