Abstract:
[Problem] Conventional CMOS image sensors have the problem that, when signal charges of a light reception part are added to an addition accumulation part two or more times, output that is linearly and directly proportional to the number of times cannot be obtained. [Solution] Provided is an imaging device in which pixels are arranged, the pixels each comprising: a light reception part; a unit accumulation part that accumulates some or all of signal charges of the light reception part; a reading transistor that is disposed between the light reception part and the unit accumulation part; an addition accumulation part that adds some or all of signal charges of the unit accumulation part; and an addition transistor that is disposed between the unit accumulation part and the addition accumulation part, wherein, when a signal charge in the unit accumulation part is transferred to the addition accumulation part, a maximum electric potential of the addition transistor is set to be smaller than a maximum electric potential of the addition accumulation part.
