Abstract:
An image sensor having different patterns or arrangements of color filters in different areas of an array of pixels is provided, where a pattern of color filters refers to a number and/or arrangement of color filters within a given pattern. In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, the pattern of color filters changes with distance from a center of the array. For instance, color filters can be disposed in a first pattern in an area including a center of the array, and color filters can be disposed in a second pattern in an area outside of the area at the center of the array in which the color filters are disposed in a first pattern.
