Abstract:
When a key is updated for ensuring security, the key is updated during decryption of update data and thus, an ECU does not operate due to a decryption failure. To this end, an in-vehicle gateway or a key management device of the present invention has: an update data acquisition unit which receives, from the outside of the vehicle, update data encrypted with a prescribed key; a key acquisition unit which receives the key from the outside of the vehicle; a key storage unit in which the key received from the key acquisition unit is stored; and a decryption unit which decrypts the update data acquired by the update data acquisition unit on the basis of the key stored in the key storage unit, wherein the update data acquisition unit transmits a key acquisition request signal after the decryption of the update data is completed by the decryption unit.
