Title:
IN VIVO-IMAGE CAPTURE DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/072849
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An in vivo-image capture device capable of capturing an image of only a desired direction in a subject. A double-eye capsule housing (11) is in the subject, and the direction of gravity on the housing (11) in the subject is detected by an acceleration sensor (13) that incorporates imaging optical systems (12a, 12b) capable of imaging the directions at opposite ends of the endoscope. The direction of advance of the housing (11) is recognized based on the result of the detection, and only one of the imaging optical systems (12a, 12b) is selected as the direction of imaging. As a result, only the desired direction can be imaged in the subject. Although the capture device is double-eyed, imaging is made only in one direction, and image data captured and an observation time are limited to similar levels as a single-eye type.
