Abstract:
An indoor unit of an air conditioner enabling the elimination of the thermal insulation of a drain pipe without increasing man-hours for installation when the air conditioner is installed. The indoor unit (5) of the air conditioner (1) comprises a first heat exchange part (53), a second heat exchange part (54) disposed on the underside of the first heat exchange part (53), and an indoor expansion valve (51) connected between the first heat exchange part (53) and the second heat exchange part (54). In cooling operation, the indoor unit (5) can function the first heat exchange part (53) as an evaporator for a refrigerant cooling air by a heat exchange between the refrigerant and the air decompressed in the indoor expansion valve (51) and can function, in the first heat exchange part (53), the second heat exchange part (54) as a heater heating drain water by a heat exchange between drain water produced by the cooling of the air and flowing down to the second heat exchange part (54) and the refrigerant fed from a heat source unit (2).
