Abstract:
The present invention expedites the startup process for a system, and restarts the startup process using a highly reliable program when an error is detected in the startup program. An image processing device (1) comprises: non-volatile memory including a program area which stores a program for starting up a system, and a plurality of backup areas which store a plurality of backup programs; a process executing unit (11) for executing a program to startup the system; an error detecting unit (12) for performing parallel startup processes to detect an error in a program; and a restart unit (13) for performing a recovery process to rewrite the program with a backup program when an error is detected, and for starting up the system using the rewritten program. The restart unit references history information indicating the program rewrite history during the recovery process, selects a backup program to be used in the rewrite, and rewrites the program using the selected backup program.
