Abstract:
An information providing device provides information in response to a request of a client device connected via a network. The device includes an information obtaining section for obtaining the client-requested information from an information storage section which stores the information to be provided, a usage history storage calculating section for storing the history of usage of information in a usage history storing section and, with use of the accumulated usage history, calculating the usage rate of information, a display mode changing section for changing the mode of displaying information using the usage rate, a change method designating section, when a user designates a usage rate calculation method and a display mode change method, for storing the designated usage rate calculation method and display mode change method in the change method information storing section.
