[Problem] To provide an internal combustion engine which with a simple configuration is capable of reliably supplying oil to a bearing that supports a crank shaft. [Solution] This internal combustion engine 1, 150 has: an engine block 30 having a cylinder 2 formed therein; a case member 19 coupled to a lower portion of the engine block and forming a crank chamber 4 between the engine block and the case member; and a bearing member 50 that is fastened inside the crank chamber to a lower portion of the engine block and rotatably supports a crankshaft 12. The engine block has a support wall 48 that protrudes downward from the lower portion thereof and that extends in a direction perpendicular to the crankshaft when viewed in a direction along the cylinder. The bearing member has: a bearing hole 63 through which a journal section of the crankshaft passes; a gutter section 110 arranged above the bearing hole and spaced apart from the lower end of the support wall, and open in an upward direction; and an oil supply passage 113 that extends downward from the bottom portion of the gutter section, and that opens to the bearing hole.
