Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to output light with a desired light intensity such that the accuracy of detecting light intensity can be improved. A switching means (16) switches between a normal drive signal (Sa) and a compulsory drive signal (Sb) for forcibly driving a light source (11), and inputs the selected signal to an input line (111) of the light source (11). The switching means (16) inputs the compulsory drive signal (Sb) to the input line (111) during a period (Tb) longer than a period (Ta) during which the scanning position in a principal scanning direction (X) passes through a first principal scanning region (Xa). A display control unit (14) adjusts the drive level of the normal drive signal (Sa) on the basis of the light intensity of laser light (Ka) when the light source (11) is driven by the compulsory drive signal (Sb), and thereby adjusts the output from the light source (11).
