Abstract:
Provided are a liquid crystal display panel and a liquid crystal display device which have a high response speed. Specifically provided is a liquid crystal display panel provided with a first substrate and a second substrate, which are disposed to face each other, and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the first and the second substrate. The liquid crystal layer includes liquid crystal molecules having positive dielectric constant anisotropy, the liquid crystal molecules are aligned perpendicularly to the first substrate surface when no voltage is applied, the first substrate comprises signal lines, scan lines, first electrodes to which image signals are supplied via the signal lines, and second electrodes, the first electrode has first comb tooth parts, the second electrode has second comb tooth parts, the first and second comb tooth parts are disposed in the same layer to planarly face each other within a pixel, the second substrate comprises a third electrode which covers at least a display region, and a dielectric layer which is disposed on the liquid crystal layer side of the third electrode, and the slowest rise response speed is less than or equal to twice the rise response speed at the time of the application of the maximum gray-scale voltage when no voltage has been applied.
