Abstract:

[PROBLEMS] To provide a lithium rechargeable battery with a nonaqueous electrolyte that, even at a high level of charge/discharge, has a higher performance and has a high energy density, has a high voltage, and, at the same time, has excellent safety. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A lithium rechargeable battery comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator provided between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a lithium salt-containing nonaqueous electrolyte. In the nonaqueous electrolyte, an ionic liquid containing a bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide anion as an anion component is used as a solvent. The ionic liquid exhibits a voltage of not less than 3.6 V in a full charged state and a discharge average voltage of not less than 2.9 V in terms of one hour discharge rate.
