Title:
LUNEBERG LENS AND ANTENNA DEVICE USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/013420
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A Luneberg lens composed of a combination of a plurality of lens parts has a problem in securing the combined state and good moisture proof property of the lens parts. A positional deviation of the lens parts not only causes a cost increase but also has an adverse effect on the electric performance. Further, entry of water molecules or moisture aggravates the electric performance. These problems are solved by a simple inexpensive method. A Luneberg lens in which a lens section (2) composed of a combination of lens parts of spherical shell and spherical shell-like resin foams is sealed by a synthetic resin film (3) which is formed along the surface of the lens section (2) and whose thickness is not more than 100 μm and whose specific dielectric constant is higher than that of the outermost layer of the lens section.
