Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a technology that, taking into account the shape of a user's vehicle, makes it possible to confirm whether it is possible for the user to pass by an oncoming vehicle at a turnout, the user being a user of map data. This map data creation system is provided with: a refuge location-information generation unit for generating refuge location information when it is determined that a probe vehicle has taken a refuge action, the refuge location information including two-dimensional shape data of a refuge location generated on the basis of image information of within a predetermined range, and position information associated with said image information; and an update unit for updating map data on the basis of refuge location information.
