Abstract:
Embodiments of the present application relate to the field of communications, and in particular, to a method and an apparatus for communication. In the embodiments of the present application, a base station acquires a utilization rate of physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resources for carrying channel state information (CSI), the utilization rate being a proportion of currently allocated PUCCH resources for carrying CSI and a total number of PUCCH resources for carrying CSI in a system; and the base station allocates, to a terminal according to the utilization rate, a PUCCH resource for carrying CSI. The present invention reduces CSI carrying PUCCH resources, while a terminal can still timely report CSI information of the terminal to a base station to reflect the downlink channel quality of the terminal, thereby solving the problem in which downlink channel quality information of terminals cannot be accurately obtained due to a shortage of PUCCH resources for carrying CSI.
