Abstract:
A method for implementing xDSL hybrid access uses Asynchronous Transfer Mode
(ATM) to carry the ATM standard cells of the ADSL service and the pseudo cells of
the VDSL service, distinguishes the types of the cells when reconstructing the
cells, reconstructs the ATM standard cells into the ADSL data frames, and reconstructs
the pseudo cells into the VDSL data frames. A digital subscriber line access multiplexer
(DSLAM) for implementing xDSL hybrid access is provided. The invention can implement
the hybrid access of the DSL technology of ADSL cluster and the VDSL cluster.
