Abstract:
A method and device for activating multimedia broadcast/multicast service, the
said method includes, the service GPRS supporting node transfers a registration request
message of multimedia broadcast/multicast service to the gateway GPRS supporting
node, in order to request to establish a bearing relationship of multimedia broadcast/multicast
service; the said gateway GPRS supporting node returns a supporting ability
message required by multimedia broadcast/multicast service bearing to the
service GPRS supporting node. The said device comprises a registration request
unit and a registration response unit. The present invention is used to solve
the problem that in current MBMS activation process, SGSN can't compare
the supporting ability required by MBMS bearing with the MBMS supporting ability
of UE.
