Abstract:
A method for fabricating an EL element in which deterioration of element characteristics due to a developing solution or a rinse liquid is suppressed while keeping the advantages of photolithography, i.e. high emission efficiency and takeout efficiency, convenient fabrication process, formation of a high resolution pattern, and the like. The method for fabricating an organic EL element having a patterned organic light emitting layer, characterized in that patterning is performed by forming a protective layer pattern on the organic light emitting layer before etching it.
