Abstract:
A method for feeding the metal into the crystallizer of a continuous casting installation with a linear processing axis, providing for feeding the metal (1) under the meniscus at a depth of about 0.16 to 0.6 of the width of the crystallizer (4) in the direction of pulling of the ingot parallel to the longitudinal axis (8) of the crystallizer (4) and with an offset in relation to said axis of about 0.05 to 0.3 of the width of the crystallizer (4) and in the direction of its lower face.
