The present invention relates to: a method for manufacturing an anode current collector, the method being capable of improving fatigue failures at the ends of an anode current collector disposed at the outermost part of an electrode assembly; and an anode, an electrode assembly, and a secondary battery, comprising the anode current collector. The method for manufacturing an anode current collector comprises the steps of: (A) preparing an electrolytic copper foil; and (B) applying a compressive residual stress to both ends in an MD direction of the electrolytic copper foil. The anode current collector comprises an electrolytic copper foil having a plastic deformation layer formed at both the ends in the MD direction, and an average residual stress is 0 MPa or less when the surface residual stress is measured.
