Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method for manufacturing a paper-making barrier substrate in which an occurrence of coating unevenness in wet-on-wet coating with a curtain coating method is suppressed. As a solution, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a paper-making barrier substrate, the method comprising: a step for coating, through a curtain coating method, a paper substrate with a water vapor barrier layer coating liquid containing at least a water vapor barrier resin and a pigment to form a water vapor barrier; and a step for coating, through the curtain coating method, the water vapor barrier layer with a gas barrier layer coating liquid containing at least one type polymer selected from water-soluble polymers and water-dispersible polymers to form a gas barrier layer without interposing a drying step between the two coating steps. The B-type viscosity of the gas barrier layer coating liquid is greater than or equal to the B-type viscosity of the water vapor barrier layer coating liquid.
