Abstract:
A method of obtaining L-alanine comprises cultivating mutants of microorganisms of the genus Brevibacterium or Corynebacterium, needed for growth in D-alanine, or mutants of microorganisms of the genus Brevibacterium, needed for growth in D-alanine and resistant to D, L-alpha-amino butyric acid, on a nutrient medium containing assimilable sources of carbon, and nitrogen, inorganic salts and microorganism growth stimulators until L-alanine is accumulated in the culture liquid, after which the desired product is extracted.
