Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for preparing an EVA copolymer with a high ethylene content by means of medium-low pressure solution polymerization, which belongs to the technical field of organic high-molecular compounds. The method comprises the following steps: under medium-low pressure conditions, in a single reaction container, initiating the copolymerization reaction of ethylene and vinyl acetate in an organic solvent by using a free radical initiator, so as to obtain the EVA copolymer; and continuously adding ethylene during the reaction process to maintain the medium-low pressure conditions, wherein the medium-low pressure ranges from 1-101 MPa, and the ratio of the mass of vinyl acetate to the initial addition mass of ethylene is (1:1)-(1:20). The amount of ethylene embedded in the EVA copolymer prepared by the method is greater than or equal to 50 wt%; the EVA copolymer has performances equivalent to those of an EVA copolymer obtained by means of traditional high-temperature high-pressure bulk polymerization, and can be used in the application field to which the EVA copolymer prepared by the traditional method is applicable; moreover, compared with the traditional high-temperature high-pressure EVA preparation method, the equipment investment and the high energy consumption cost of production are greatly reduced.
