Abstract:
A method for preparing a solid acid catalyst is characterized in that at least one compound selected from oxides and hydroxides is brought into contact with a gas containing a sulfur trioxide. A method for producing a lactam compound is characterized in that a corresponding lactam compound is produced by Beckmann rearrangement of a cycloalkanone oxime compound in the presence of a solid acid catalyst prepared by the above-described method.
