Abstract:
Provided are: a method for processing plants including irradiating the plants with ultraviolet rays predominantly containing one of either a right circular polarized light component or a left circular polarized light component; a production method for plants including the processing method; a sheet containing a layer that is selectively reflective with respect to circularly polarized light and that selectively reflects or transmits right circularly polarized light or left circularly polarized light in any wavelength region of the ultraviolet region in order to be used in the production method; and an illumination device that contains the sheet and a light source that can radiate ultraviolet rays in order to be used in the production method. The method for processing plants can adjust the amount of specific components in the plants during plant storage and the like, and is useful in plant production.
