Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method for producing soft magnetic iron powder that effectively increases the percentage of amorphousness of the soft magnetic iron powder even when the content of iron triad elements (Fe, Co and Ni) is high. [Solution] Provided is a method for producing soft magnetic iron powder by spraying high pressure water, which impacts a molten metal stream that is falling in the vertical direction, to divide the molten metal stream and form metal powder, and cooling the metal powder to produce the soft magnetic iron powder. When the amount of the molten metal stream that falls per unit time is Qm (kg/min) and the volume of the high pressure water sprayed per unit time is Qaq (kg/min), the mass ratio (Qaq/Qm) is at least 50 and the total content of iron triad components (Fe, Ni, Co) is at least 76 at%.
