Technical problem: to record two or more times a vehicle speed during several seconds to several tens of seconds before a present point of time during travelling, a magnitude and direction of collision due to an accident, a condition of steering, a gear changing condition and other driving conditions on a time basis, later read and display a record at the time of the accident. Constitution: a method which comprises using a sensor unit (1) to detect a driving condition such as a vehicle speed, steering and a brake operation of a travelling automobile, capturing into a microcomputer (14) in a microcomputer unit (3) detection signals such as a vehicle speed signal, an acceleration signal due to a shock, an air bag actuating signal, a change gear signal, a steering signal, an acceleration signal, a direction indication signal and a braking signal from an interface unit (2), recording the signals together with time signals in a RAM 16, which is divided into a plurality of memory blocks, constantly during the last several seconds to several tens of seconds while replacing one memory block with another when a signal exceeds a threshold value, later taking a plurality of elements of accident information recorded, into a running condition analyzing device (23) from a read device, and displaying or printing out the several elements of accident information to analyze and display a running condition of a vehicle, a direction of accidental collision and an intensity of shock at the time of an accident together with times.
