Abstract:
A method and system for real-time locating the group calling/multicast mobile station are disclosed. The method and the system are suitable for trunking communication system based on public network. The method includes: dividing SDCCH channel into multiple sub-channels and assigning these sub-channels for group calling/multicast groups, and sending the description information of the assigned sub-channel to the mobile station; each mobile station determines its report location in the sub-channel, and reports access burst (AB) carrying its information in the report location periodically; the network side receives AB on the sub-channels assigned for group calling/multicast groups, and locates the mobile station based on the location of AB and the carrying information of the mobile station. The system includes channel dividing and assignment process unit, locating information reporting unit and locating unit. With the invention, the network side could locate the mobile station in a designated group calling/multicast group at any moment during the group calling/multicast of the trunking communication system based on public network, thus it is convenient to control and schedule the trunking communication system.
