Abstract:
The invention relates to the paint-and-varnish industry and can be used for producing one of the components for synthesising a carrier-laquer for the production of pentaphthalic paints (enamels). The aim of said invention is to develop a method for treating tall oil which makes it possible to produce a treated tall oil which contains a dominant portion of dimeric derivants, thereby decreasing the formation of a solid calcitrant solventless phase and making it possible to improve the quality of the produced carrier-laquer. The inventive method for treating the tall oil consists in heating the tall oil and maintaining the obtained temperature. Said process is accompanied by bubbling the tall oil with air. The tall oil is heated in one step to a temperature ranging from 190 °C to 220 °C, said temperature being maintained during a time period ranging from 15 to 40 minutes.
