Abstract:
Provided are a microfluidic device capable of constructing a gel surface which enables cell seeding and has excellent observability, and a method for using this microfluidic device. The microfluidic device comprises: a plate-shaped body having a first main surface and a second main surface which face each other in a first direction; a first flow channel which is formed inside the body and extends along a plane between the first main surface and the second main surface; and a plurality of first flow channel ports which extend in the first direction and open at one end at an end of the first flow channel and at the other end at the second main surface. The first flow channel has an enlarged part the flow channel width of which is enlarged from the first main surface side toward the second main surface side when viewed in the extension direction of the first flow channel.
