Abstract:
A motor unit according to one embodiment comprises: a motor; a transmission mechanism that outputs motive power of the motor from an output shaft; a park lock mechanism provided to the transmission mechanism; and a housing provided with an accommodation space for accommodating the motor and the transmission mechanism. The transmission mechanism includes: a plurality of shafts extending in the horizontal direction; and a plurality of gears that are fixed to the corresponding plurality of shafts. The park lock mechanism includes: a park lock gear that is fixed to a counter shaft, which is one of the plurality of shafts; a park lock arm that meshes with the park lock gear; and a park lock actuator that drives the park lock arm. The park lock actuator is positioned directly above the counter shaft. The park lock actuator is positioned outside the accommodation space, and overlaps with the housing when viewed from the axial direction of a motor shaft.
