Disclosed in the present application is a multicast communication method. The multicast communication method is applied to a multicast communication system, and the multicast communication system comprises a multicast source and at least one client, e.g., a first client. The method comprises: a multicast source determining a multicast address and a multicast key; the multicast source sending a first Bluetooth message to the first client, wherein the message comprises the multicast address and the multicast key; the first client sending a second Bluetooth message to the multicast source, so as to indicate that the first client confirms joining a multicast group; the first client configuring, as a MAC address of the multicast source, a source address corresponding to the multicast key; the multicast source sending, by means of WiFi and in a multicast manner, a first multicast packet which is encrypted by means of the multicast key, wherein a source address in a MAC header of the first multicast packet is the MAC address of the multicast source, and a destination address is the multicast address; on the basis of the multicast address, the first client monitoring the first multicast packet; and the first client parsing the first multicast packet by using the multicast key. In this way, large-scale multicast transmission with no WiFi connection can be realized.
